Our site, The Community Tool Box, consists of tools for community builders, with a mission of promoting community health and development by connecting people, ideas, and resources.
You can access our web site and browse without disclosing your personal data. This site collects certain information about you for the purposes of statistics and administration of the site. This is general information about your browser and your connection, and contains no personally identifiable details. We do keep that information indefinitely, but we do not share it with other organizations or companies. Our site contains links to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. We do not take specific steps to protect the privacy of children who disclose their personal data to us. Individuals under 18 years of age must obtain permission from their parents or guardians before providing information to this site.
If you choose to register for our Guestbook, newsletter, or “Ask an Advisor,” we ask for your email address. Your email address is concealed from public view. This site will use that email address to contact you only for sending you the newsletter, or notifying you of replies and private messages if you have so indicated in your preferences. We will not sell that address nor share it with other sites.
Method of Collection and Storage
Portions of our site collect information by means of form submissions, and anonymous surveys. We store that information at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas, USA. We do not transmit that data across the borders of the USA, including backups. We do not make use of hosting providers that may reside outside the USA. Data is stored in accordance with the procedures of the University of Kansas and the Work Group for Community Health and Development.
